A few weeks ago I posted a little story about Dairyland Greyhound Park’’s possible closing, leaving hundreds of Greyhounds needing a home. Well Dairyland did decide that it would close it’s doors at the end of the year, and that means all the dogs running at the large track will have to find a home.
The announcement means [...]

I recently read a Los Angeles Times story about a Colorado situation that pitted a rancher against a mountain biker. A couple of Great Pyrenees guarding their sheep herd attacked a bicyclist that was in no way a threat to the sheep, but obviously the dogs couldn’t have known that. So the story has a [...]

A little Chihuahua’s million dollar looks will soon help a lot of dogs in Colorado. The adorable pooch from Parker won the “cutest dog competition” from the All American Pet Brands Company. The prize for winning; one million dollars! But Instead of keeping the money, his owner decided to give it away.
Dr. Leslie Capin told [...]

Thanksgiving is a day when we love to stuff ourselves full of fabulous treats. While this might be the plan for many, it is best to make sure the family dog doesn’t do the same. Cooked turkey meat is not bad for dogs, but dogs will often get too much of a good thing. This [...]

Earlier this week I told you about Oreo. Oreo stole the hearts of New Yorkers when she was thrown off a six story building by her owner last June. She managed to live through the physical damage, but the emotional damage made her un-adoptable according to the ASPCA, and she ended up being euthanized last [...]

We have all seen soldiers coming home and their loving family running up to them, but this is the first pet/soldier reunion I have ever seen and I have to say I love this video. As anyone who knows dogs can tell this dog is BEYOND happy when she spots her owner. National Guardsman, Lt. Andrew Schmidt [...]

It started as a story of triumph. A dog is thrown from the roof of a 6-story building in Brooklyn, New York and survived. It was the kind of story that you would see in movie or read in a book. Super dog lives through a unthinkable abuse and lives happily ever after. That is [...]

You’ve seen them advertised on TV… The “Snuggie” ! They are all the rage, or at least that is what the commercials tell me. Yes these plush robes seem to be a “must have” to sit and watch TV or read a book. To me they look like you raided a monk’s closet, but people seem [...]
