aspcaLandmarks around the country including one right here in Colorado Springs  will be lighting up in orange to commemorate “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month”  .

America the Beautiful Park is joining the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in the nationwide celebration of  animals.

“We’re deeply honored by the support of landmarks and sponsors that have decided to ‘go orange’ this year,” said ASPCA President & CEO Ed Sayres. “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals month is a time of reflection for both the ASPCA and the nation. This month reminds us of the successes we’ve had preventing animal cruelty and helping homeless pets find safe and loving homes.”

Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month is held appropriately each year in April to honor the anniversary of the ASPCA’s founding in 1866. For more information about the ASPCA’s rich history and how you can be a voice for animals, please visit www.AspcaApril.org.
