Dublin enjoys freedom at the Bear Creek Dog Park

El Paso County Parks is asking for dog owners to help improve the Bear Creek Dog Park.  Users of the park have probably noticed the bright yellow donation boxes the entrance.  The money will be used to make some upgrades.  The county also applied for a large grant from Great Outdoors Colorado, and local donations will help GOCO decide whether or not to award the grant to the popular dog park.

“One of the more important things that goco looks at when applying for these grants is showing community support and showing that the people in the community are for the project that there is a need for the project,” said Jeremy Syme with El Paso County Parks.

Some of the improvements needed are permanent restrooms, paving and lighting the parking lot, a drinking fountain and a dog wash, and fixing the bank along the creek that is currently eroding.,
