docdogIf you’re Looking for something new to do with with your dog this weekend; check out the Pueblo Convention Center’s 1st Annual Pet Expo  where you can watch the Dock Dogs and even participate with your dog!

Rocky Mountain Dock Dogs  will be having a “Big Air” competition, where dogs run down a dock and dive into the water chasing a toy, and are manually judged for the length/distance of their jump. There will also be a “Extreme Vertical”event which is a high jump for the dogs as they lunge to snag a “bumper” suspended in the air.  Rounding out the weekend’s competition is a “Speed Retrieve”; a timed event where the dog is on the clock and must run down the dock, jump into the water and swim a designated distance and retrieve a “bumper” that is suspended just above the water. The dog who does this in the least amount of time wins!

Dock Dog members will also be helping new dogs and people that would like to try the sport.  No experience necessary!

The Pueblo Convention Center’s Pet Expo is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday nad Sunday, April 9th & 10th and is free to the public.

The cost for each wave of the Rocky Mountain DockDog event is $15.00 for the 1st wave, and $10.00 for each additional wave you participate in. Become a member of Rocky Mountain DockDogs and your 1st wave is FREE. This is also a great spectator sport and watching the event is free.
