The Mill Dog Rescue is holding their “Ruff Life Freedom Run/Walk” in America the Beautiful Park.  The event got underway at 8am with a 5k run, but they will have events and contests until 1pm.  Some of the events are costume contest, licking contest, dog/owner look-alike, and best trick!  There will be vendors on hand and leashed dogs are welcome!

All Breed Rescue and Training is holding their annual garage and bake sale.  All the money from this event goes to the dogs and facility.  The event is being held at the ABRT facility at 20 Mount View Lane, Suites B & C.  The sale runs until 4pm today and 10am to 2pm tomorrow.

If you don’t have a dog but have been thinking about getting one; check out the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region this weekend.  It is “Doggie Discount Days” and that means that all dogs are available for a very low $50 adoption fee.  Adoption fees for cats and dogs include vaccinations, a microchip, a free health exam at one of 71 participating veterinary clinics, deworming for young animals, a one-year license for dogs, and pet information. For animals that are not already spayed or neutered, a $50 refundable deposit is required
