An 11-pound Pekingese took Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on last night.

“Malachy” beat out more than 2,000 dogs and 185 different breeds and varieties to win the most prestigious story in dogdom.

The now retired “Peke” has won 115 best in shows. “He’s a lot of dog in a small package,” handler David Fitzpatrick said.

No local dogs made it into the final round, but a Denver area woman did judge the Best in Show and several local dogs did win Best in Breed prizes.
