Ok… I know in the previous post I told you to bring you pet in during the storm, and I stick by it.  That said; most dogs love snow, so when we get a nice blanket of snow you are going to want to find a place to let them go wild.  My dogs are hard to take on a walk in fresh snow because they are running, rolling, and plowing their faces into the powder usually tangling the Flexis and hog tying themselves.  While I don’t think a dog should be left outside to live, I do whole heartedly believe that you should take time to let them play outside.  So if you are lucky enough to get to stay home on a snow day, be sure to take your dog somewhere to safely run free.  Last week during my vacation we got quite a bit of snow and the dogs loved every minute of their walk around the block.  So much so I decided to load them up and take them to the mountains near Westcliffe.  Not only did the dogs have a good time, my husband and I enjoyed a nice lunch and we were treated to a herd of elk, wild turkeys(The birds, not the drink!  I was driving.) and these deer shown below.

This herd of deer was a bonus on our snow day.
