Police K-9 gets his man

Move over McGruff, a local CSPD K-9 is really taking a bite out of crime.  When an alleged burglar ran away from officers overnight it took a four legged officer to track him down.  Colorado Springs police say they responded to a call of a burglary in progress Sunday night on McKay Way.  When they got there they saw a man that appeared to be breaking into the home.  They asked the man to stop, but he took off  eluding officers.   A perimeter was immediately set, and a K-9 was brought in.  It didn’t take long for the police dog to find his man.   The suspect was located within a block hiding in a backyard. When the suspect was ordered to the ground he attempted to run and jump a fence. The K-9 was released and needless to say the suspect was caught. The man had to be taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries sustained with the K-9 “contact”. The suspect has been identified as Timothy Parks.  A wag of the tail goes to our K-9 officers for keeping citizens and their officer people safe!
