The  Park County Sheriff’s Office says Sam and Diane Walker own the huskies that were being housed in a sled dog facility just south of Hartsel a small town about 60 miles west of Colorado Springs.

The Department of Agriculture says many of the animals were found this week  in extremely poor condition and close to death. The worst cases were sent to humane societies in the area including here in Colorado Springs.  The rest of the dogs are being sent to other approved facilities around the state.
