  2. It began with a promise to raise awareness of canine cancer one mile, one city, and one person at a time. Luke Robinson, with his two dogs, walked 2000 miles from Austin to Boston to fulfill the promise he made to his dog Malcolm who died from this horrible disease. Now that their 2000 mile walk is over, they need your help to continue fulfilling the promise.
2 Million Dogs was formed on the premise that if 2 dogs can walk 2000 miles to bring awareness to canine cancer and comparative oncology, then 2 million dogs should be able to walk 2 miles.
On November 6th, we are planning a series of Puppy Up! Walks to be held in Denver and several other cities across America! Through the Puppy Up! Walks, we are building the largest pet and people cancer community in the world; from business people to artists to scientists and humanitarians, a partnership forged with the singular purpose of ridding the world of its deadliest disease.
Through our Puppy Up! Walks we are raising funds to invest in canine cancer and comparative oncology research, particularly focusing on the causal relationship between infections, immune response, and cancer.
Our scientific objectives are: broadening our understanding of the links between human and companion animal cancer, creating a cross institutional collaborative platform, developing new approaches to research, and funding translational cancer studies that benefit both pets and people.
Since February of 2010 we have focused all of our efforts on the first two components of our mission which are education and mobilization. In 2011 and 2012, we will be solidifying our relationships with scientific institutions to begin funding research projects.
Now more than ever, we must continue the fight and support those with cancer, honor the friends we have lost, and walk for those we can help. Be a part of this historical event. Puppy Up! against cancer and help us make these events successful by sponsoring the walk in your city.

2 Million Dogs 2 Miles, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization which relies on the generosity of individuals and corporations to help in its mission to eradicate cancer through investing in comparative oncology studies. 3. We are organizing The First Puppy Up! Denver Walk that will be held in Stapleton Central Park in Denver on Nov. 6, 2011. This is our second year to hold a walk in Colorado. Last year the event was held in Fort Collins. We have some exciting things planned in addition to the 2-mile walk, including food booths, vendor booths, human and K-9 entertainment and an appearance by Guy Gilchrist, a nationally syndicated cartoonist, singer, songwriter. Guy drew THE MUPPET CARTOONS and he currently draws the NANCY and TODAY’S DOGG CARTOONS.
