Animal rights group trying to buy Vick’s former home

A Pennsylvania-based animal rights group said today that it failed to raise enough money to buy NFL star Michael Vick’s former dogfighting compound and turn it into a rehabilitation center for chained and penned dogs, but they have been given new hope.

Firefighter to be recognized for saving Chihuahua in fire

The  firefighter who used mouth-to-snout resuscitation to revive a little dog last month will be recognized tonight by Dreampower Animal Rescue.
 No people were in the home when the fire broke out on January 24th near Colorado Springs.   Three dogs were saved from a house fire in the 19-hundred block of Chamberlin South.

Dreampower Animal Rescue is in urgent need for foster homes for their animals.  They are  receiving 40-50 calls a week from people who need to surrender their animals for whatever reason and due to not having enough room they have no choice at this point but to turn over 90% of them away.
