More than 40 dogs taken from Bent County residence

More than 40 dogs were removed from a private residence in Bent County yesterday.

A man who had his dogs seized last year in Park County has pleaded guilty to felony aggravated cruelty to animals.

Woman in massive dog cruelty case only gets probation

A Florissant woman who was charged will 28 counts of animal cruelty, including felonies, made a plea agreement in court that some might think is, well, pretty easy.
Diane Walker will only serve two years probation on one count of misdemeanor animal cruelty.  The District Attorney dropped all other 27 charges as part of the bargain.

Rumors of poisonings worry area pet owners

Posters showing up in stores around Penrose have pet owners in Fremont County on edge.
The hand written posters have been placed in windows, bulletin boards, and counters and they warn pet owners about someone who is randomly poisoning dogs with anti-freeze in meat.

Dogs stuck in gold mine are out and back home

       Two dogs that were trapped in a gold mine shaft near Cripple Cripple have gotten out and animal control took them home.
Yesterday rescuers were trying to coax the dogs out of a Cripple Creek and Victor Gold Mine with   food, treats and water. It didn’t work.
