The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region is full to capacity right now, but they have secured a secondary site to care for animals evacuated by the Waldo Canyon Fire.

The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region was called by Colorado Springs Police, to investigate a potential dog shooting in the 1600 block of Highland Way. Once they got there, they found that the dog had been killed by a human, with a large blade of some sort. The dog was a German Shepherd.
