More than 40 dogs were removed from a private residence in Bent County yesterday.

A new nonprofit organization says it is bringing animal welfare investigations to several underserved counties in Colorado.
The new Colorado Humane Society & SPCA says they will work with local law enforcement and government agencies to investigate and prevent the cruelty and neglect of companion animals and horses within the state.
